Brown Sugar Hot Chocolate

3 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate
1/3 c. water
1 qt. heated milk
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/8 tsp. salt (optional)
garnish with peppermint cane


Stir chocolate and water in medium saucepan over low heat until chocolate has melted (mixture will thicken). Gradually whisk in milk, then sugar and salt until smooth. Serve hot. Can be made ahead, refrigerated, and then reheated.
